5 Wellness Habits to Care for Your Body as a Temple

I used to think wellness was about achieving some perfect version of myself. If I could just look a certain way, feel a certain way, or hit that next goal… then I’d feel enough. But the truth is, none of that ever filled me. What changed everything was learning to see my body the way God does: as a temple. A sacred, beautiful, already worthy space that deserves to be cared for, not punished.

If you’re in a season of trying to show up for yourself without the pressure, without the comparison… these five habits are for you. Simple. Gentle. Life-giving.

1. Move to Feel Good, Not to Look a Certain Way

Let movement be a celebration of what your body can do. Whether it’s a sweaty gym session, a slow stretch, or a walk with a friend … move because it clears your mind, lifts your mood, and reminds you that strength looks different every day.

Stop overthinking it. Just start. Your body will thank you.

2. Fuel Your Body with Real Food — and Real Freedom

Think nourishment, not numbers. Focus on whole, vibrant foods that give you energy and make you feel alive. And yes, you can have the dessert. Wellness isn’t about restriction — it’s about balance.

Eating well is a way of saying: I’m worth taking care of.

3. Rest Like You Mean It

Burnout isn’t a badge of honor. Sleep. Breathe. Take breaks. The most productive, glowing, purpose-driven you? She needs downtime. Rest isn’t weakness… it’s part of your power.

The world can wait. Rest is how you refuel.

4. Speak Life Over Yourself

You wouldn’t tear down a masterpiece, so stop tearing down yourself. Start catching those critical thoughts and replacing them with truth: I am loved. I am strong. I am enough. I am beautiful.

The way you talk to yourself sets the tone for how you show up in the world.

5. Hydrate, Breathe, and Simplify Your Self-Care

Wellness isn’t complicated. Drink your water. Get fresh air. Take care of your skin. Create little rituals that make you feel grounded and well. Small daily choices add up to big changes.

You don’t need a total life overhaul. Start where you are, with what you have.

From My Heart:

If no one’s told you lately, you are already enough. Your body is not something to fix. It’s a temple to honor. Caring for yourself isn’t about striving; it’s about showing up, right where you are, and living like you believe you’re worthy and enough (because you are). Taking care of your body is about showing up in love, not striving in fear. It’s about creating a life where you feel aligned, at peace, and on purpose. You were made for more than just getting by… you were made to thrive. You got this! <3

Praying for you always,

Laura <3
